Why Murder Drones needs a Fighting Game

Seriously, someone make a game with these these characters.

The Reasons

Now that the YouTube series Murder Drones has finished, what could be next for these characters that so many people want to keep seeing?

A possible answer to this could be a potential video game. This would allow the characters to interact with each other more, and even continue the story.

Some fans of the show may feel like there is more character development and lore to experience. Especially with the series finale being a bit rushed.

Beyond that, there are other reasons that a Murder Drones game would likely be successful.

  • The character designs
  • The fanbase
  • The Lore

Firstly, the designs of the worker drones and murder drones lend themselves nicely to customization. Everything from eye color and to clothes and accessories, the bases of the drones have plenty to work with. Using different styles or builds of legs, arms, and weights could be cool, too. Anything from rockets, to swords, or guns can be incorporated into the designs as well.

Next, we have the fanbase. Fandoms can be hard to deal with sometimes, but they do create a consistency for the creators to rely on. People who have come to love the eight episode series will definitely want to support the project even if they are not gamers. Seeing the characters and setting in a new way will excite them no matter what.

Finally, a game would be a good way to expand the lore in ways the show did not get to. Even if the game doesn’t have a main story mode, environments and achievements can hint at plenty of hidden lore and easter eggs. There are also questions surrounding the future of the Copper-9 planet, Uzi’s well being as she adjusts back into society, and whatever J is up to now that the final battle is over. Using characters as boss battles or even commentaries could shed light on these questions. (Think of dialogue, Kid Icarus style.)

What do you all think? Could a game based on Murder Drones work?
